About KB TYRES AND EXHAUSTS LTD
In 1987 local farmer, Keith Berry started fitting tyres at his farm on Manchester Road, Salterforth, mostly dealing with agricultural tyres. He then saw that there was a demand for tyre fitting in the area and found a garage to rent, behind the Texaco Fuel Station on Kelbrook Road in Barnoldswick. From here his business and reputation grew, fitting tyres and exhausts for the general public.
In 1993 his son Steven joined the business and trained as a mechanic, enabling the business to take on mechanical repairs and servicing. By 1998 the business had out grown it’s rented home and Keith had a garage & MOT Station fit for purpose built on Ravenscroft Way, which is where we are to this day.
In 2003 Keith’s daughter Sharon joined the team, running the office, accounts and administration side of the business. Further mechanics and tyre fitters were also employed, and Keith’s eldest granddaughter Katie joined the team and gained an AAT Accounts qualification, allowing her to take over the accounts side of the business, freeing up Sharon’s time for customer services, which has always been at the forefront of the business, having established great relationships with customers, and now spreading over several generations.
